Dedham-Stoneleigh, LLC, is an affiliate of Parencorp, a real estate development firm founded in 1978 by two architects, Merrill H. Diamond and Gordon I. Hurwitz. Almost from its inception, the firm has been recognized nationally for taking a different approach to real estate development. In an environment where emphasis is usually only on the bottom line, Parencorp has become known for both the appropriateness of its architecture, its creativity in its approach, and for involving municipal and neighborhood groups in the development process. While the firm has was honored for its business acumen, it is most proud of being cited for sensitivity to the un-built environment and the conservation efforts which mark many of Parencorp's projects. Parencorp partner Merrill Diamond has previously served as Chair of the local Conservation Commission.

While Parencorp has a wide range of experience in various housing types that span both new construction and renovation, the firm boasts especially strong credentials in the area of historic preservation. Merrill H. Diamond has been named to the Massachusetts Historical Commission by the Governor Michael Dukakis, and was named to the Special Commission on Historical Preservation by Governor William Weld. Seventy-five percent of the firm's work over the past two decades has featured historical preservation, either in whole or in part. Of note, Parencorp partner Gordon I. Hurwitz has distinguished himself as a Brookline community leader, and through his activities on both the Development and Building Commissions, has been responsible for the design and construction of a number of significant municipal projects. 

Parencorp's national honors include the following: "Entrepreneur of the Year" award by Venture Magazine and Ernst & Young, Inc.: "Developer of the Year," awarded by the Condominium Associations Institute: and numerous awards for both design and marketing from Builder Magazine. In addition, Parencorp principals Merrill H. Diamond and Gordon I. Hurwitz were named "Two of America's Most Valuable People," by the national newspaper, USA Today.
