Stoneleigh Luxury Condominiums ("The Old Norfolk County Jail") is approximately 2.5-acre parcel located in Precinct One of Dedham, Massachusetts. The property consists of a magnificent granite structure that served as a house of correction along with three wood framed out buildings. Located in the heart of Dedham's historic district the neighborhood is comprised of impressive, well-maintained, and architecturally significant homes.
With the construction of a replacement prison several years ago the property was deemed surplus by the state and was ultimately sold to
Dedham-Stoneleigh, LLC, based on its proposal for combining the preservation of the historic jail building and an acceptable project density.
Dedham-Stoneleigh, LLC, has begun conversion of the property into twenty-four (24) condominium residences. The scope of the project consists of twenty (20) two and three bedroom condominium units in the redeveloped large granite facility and four (4) detached single family homes to be renovated and expanded, and one to be newly constructed. All units will feature garaged parking, small "victory gardens" and a small public park. In addition, the entire site will be landscaped and professionally managed.
The Dedham-Stoneleigh, LLC, owned and managed equally by Merrill H. Diamond and Gordon I. Hurwitz, will be the development entity for the condominium project. Gretchen Colby and Peter Cwieka of
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage will be the exclusive listing team for Stoneleigh. |
